A new Schrödinger Fellowship program has been established at the University of
Zurich to support particularly advanced postdoctoral candidates.
These positions are research equivalents of junior faculty and the fellows
are expected to play a significant role in the overall scientific
direction of the ITP, and are paid above postdoctoral level. Initial
appointment is for three years, with a possibility for further extension
of up to five years total. They may be converted to a junior faculty
position after three years subject to a successful outcome of an external review by Swiss National
Foundation, for a total period of up to nine years. The junior faculty positions have
salary in the range of 120,000-130,000 CHF (100,000 USD) and come with
an independent budget for students and postdocs. All postdoctoral applicants will
automatically be considered for this position and no separate application is required.
